Voters in several states went to the polls this week in the unglamorous middle of a midterm year: runoffs, specials, the races that do not get a night-one graphic. In Oklahoma, Mike Mazzei won a Republican primary runoff for governor. N’Kiyla Jasmine Thomas won a Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate. In Georgia, Everton Blair won a special House runoff.

In South Carolina, WORLD Radio reported, a Trump-endorsed candidate, Graham, defeated Representative Ralph Norman by about five points in a contest that will feed the usual narratives about the party’s center of gravity. We will not build a national theory out of three runoffs. We will put them on the live file, where they belong, as data.
